Saturday, October 20th, our Nittany Lions will challenge Ohio State’s Buckeyes in “the Shoe”. Friday night before the teams mix it up, Central Ohio Alumni will be mixing with friends, family, and Penn State reps at the Ohio History Center. The Alumni Mixer is the premier fund raising event for the Chapter’s Scholarship.
Our goals for the event are for everyone to have a great time celebrating Penn State in the heart of ‘enemy’ territory and raise some money for the scholarship at a reasonable admission price. The venue is exceptional and offers guests an engaging and fun experience – all in the company of other Penn Staters, the PSU cheer team, and the Nittany Lion!
We are all aware that costs for everything have been increasing. Keeping the cost of admission reasonable is challenging. This is where you can help.
We are looking for sponsors – businesses, individuals, and families to underwrite some of the cost of the event. In return, we will reward sponsors with perks – free event tickets, advertising and publicity options, and a special pre-event VIP reception with PSAA leaders, chapter leaders, and some special guests. Individuals and families can choose to remain anonymous if they so desire.
There is a tiered sponsorship structure, which begins at $250 and incrementally increases to $1,500. The more we can defray the event costs, the more we can help students on their journey to become Penn State Alumni. Both the Scholarship fund and Chapter are 503(c) charities. so contributions are partially or fully tax-deductible based on the perks that you choose to accept.
Sponsors do not need to be Penn State Alumni. So, if you know someone who wants to get the word out about their business and at the same time give to an honorable charity, let them know about this opportunity! This event will be advertised across the nation to Penn State alumni via the PSAA website and communications.
