Welcome to the Central Ohio Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association!

The Central Ohio Chapter is the official chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association for Franklin County and the surrounding counties. All Penn State Alumni and fans are welcome to participate in Chapter events.

The Central Ohio Chapter, and all Alumni Association Chapters, are run by Alumni volunteers. We are always looking for area Alumni who want to keep the Penn State spirit alive!

Getting started is easy! Come to an event, follow us on social media, and sign up for our email newsletter. If you have ideas for activities or events, email us. Our monthly Board meetings are open to all area Alumni. Join us for a meeting!

Congratulations, Alex Groger!

On November 12, 2024, Alex Groger, the Chapter’s 2017 Scholarship winner, was formally admitted to the Ohio Bar in a ceremony held at the Palace Theater in Columbus. Alex is a 2021 graduate of Penn State and received his law degree from Michigan State in 2024. He is employed as an Associate with Dickey McCamey & Chilcote.


Alex is the son of Chuck Groger (PSU 1992) & Kathleen Groger (PSU
1992).

  • Playoff Round 1 Game Watch

    Due to holiday parties, we have not been able to secure a venue for a PSU vs SMU game watch.

  • Big10 Championship Game Watch

    The Oregon waddling will not be in a row after meeting our Lions Saturday night! For the first time since 2016 Penn State is heading to Indianapolis. They will meet the Oregon Ducks to determine the Big10 Champion.

    Central Ohio Alumni, friends, and fans will head to Powell to cheer on our Lions! Join us at Pizza Cottage for the 8pm kickoff this Saturday. We look forward to see you there!

  • Game Watch and Fundraiser

    Join us this Saturday at 3:30pm when the Lions take on the Golden Gophers in Minnesota! We will be back at Pizza Cottage in Powell / Lewis Center.

    This game watch will also be our Chapter fundraiser. We have a few items in a penny social raffle, including:

    • Box seats in the Schott for up to 8 people, Friday Dec. 6, when The Nittany Lions men’s hockey team play the Buckeyes.
      • We are working on a post-game visit with Coach Gadowsky!
    • 2 Dozen PSU themed cake pops
    • Vintage PSU themed Gift basket

    The proceeds will support THON and the Chapter’s future activities. We also expect to hold a 50-50 drawing to support the Scholarship fund.

    The raffle drawings will be held during the halftime break. You must be present to win.

  • PSU at Minnesota game watch

    Join us to cheer for our Lions on Saturday, Nov 23! Our final regular season game watch will be at the Pizza Cottage in Powell. We will be hosting a Chapter fund raiser during the game.

    We have several items in a penny social. The proceeds will support THON and the Chapter’s future activities. We also expect to hold a 50-50 drawing to support the Scholarship fund. Enjoy a laid back day with fellow Penn Staters before the holiday activities start while supporting a few good causes!

    Kick off is at 3:30pm. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Update! Washington game watch canceled

    We were unable to find a local venue with the Peacock network to stream the Washington State @ Penn State game. We have canceled this weekend’s game watch. Please join us on November 23 when the Golden Gophers host the Lions.
